Salamun alaykum,
Dhulhijjah: 3rd of the Sacred months (Ash-hurul Hurum ):
Remember/Celebrate the praise of Allah during the appointed days.
(Sura al-Baqara 2:203)
Hadith from 6th Imam J’afar Sadiq a.s. reports that the ‘appointed days’ refers to the First ten days of Dhulhijjah.
Holy Prophet s.a.w.w. said that supplications made in these 10 days get a positive reply from Allah (SWT). This season provides us with an opportunity to correct ones faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. The Ahlul Bayt a.s. and pious and upright companions of the Holy Prophet s.a.w.w. used to spend this month in prayers and supplications, particularly the first ten days. Recommended deeds to perform in these auspicious dates have been elaborated in the summary of majlis 17th November, 2009 and email 19th November, 2009.
Together let us benefit from the first ten dates of this month Dhulhijjah.
Question posed to 9th Imam :
29th Dilq’ada 220 A.H.is day of Wafat of 9th Imam Muhammad Taqi Al- Jawad a.s. As mentioned in majlis herebelow is the question put forward by Mamun Rashid’s Chief Qadhi Yahya bin Aktham and the response by Imam :
What is the compensation (kaffara) for a person in Ihraam who hunted and killed his prey?"
Imam replied that there were many more details required before he could answer the question:
- Did the Muhrim (one in Ihraam) hunt in the haram ( sacred boundary ) or outside?
- Did the Muhrim know Sharia or not?
- Did he hunt intentionally or not?
- Did he hunt for the first time or was this one of many times?
- Was he free or a slave?
- Was his prey a bird or an animal?
- Was it big or small?
- Had he hunted by day or by night?
- Was he baligh or not?
- Was he repentant or not?
- Was his Ihraam for Hajj or Umra?
Yahya was stunned on listening to the Imam and the entire gathering started applauding.
